You can create and save your own mixes in FREESTYLE mode.
PRO TIP: Make sure you’ve got your character and venue set the way you like as MIX CAPTURE will save the whole performance, including the visual show!
When you are ready to capture your mix, cursor over the MIX CAPTURE icon – this will bring up the Mix Capture interface.
You can select the length of your mix. Choose from 8, 16 32, or 64 bars.
PRO TIP: 32 bars is one pass full through the Timeline
When you press the CAPTURE control, you’ll be actively recording your mix. Drop discs, access global controls, and play with instruments and FX – everything will be captured just as you perform.
Press the REWIND control to go back and fix mistakes. When you rewind, you will erase all activity, picking up when you stop rewinding.
SAVING YOUR MIX
At the conclusion of your mix, you can choose to save the mix and export a video. Saving the mix will also notify your followers, letting them know that you’ve got a new masterpiece for them to check out.
EXPORTING YOUR MIX
You will have an opportunity to export your mix as a shareable video file at the end of every mix capture session.
Select 'Export Video'
Wait for the video to render.
On PC, your video will be available in your Fuser file folder.
On XBOX One, the video will be saved to your saved clips. From there you can upload it to the XboxLive cloud, share it on Twitter, or save it to your OneDrive folder.
XBOX users may encounter an error message “We hit an error while exporting the video.” when trying to export a mix. In order to allow your XBOX to export your mix, simply follow the steps below:
From the Xbox Dashboard:
1. Go to Settings
2. Select Preferences
3. Select Capture & share
4. Under "Capture", choose 'Captures by me and games'
On PS4, the video will be saved to your SHARE library. From there, you can share it with other players, upload it to Twitter or YouTube, or copy it to external storage.
NOTE: this feature is currently unavailable on Nintendo Switch. This is a known issue and our teams are looking for a resolution. In the meantime, you can share your mix with your friends in-game by providing them with your username so that they can view your mixes directly from your profile.
Shared Mixes can be accessed from the Main Menu
Alternatively, go to the 'Social hub' by going to your 'Mixes' option through the 'Social' option from the Main Menu.
PRO TIP: If you hear something you like, consider following the mix creator – you will get an in-game notification when they create and share a new mix.
